Gps-Problem
Question asked by MajStealth - November 5, 2015 at 12:47 PM
Answered
i use a "G-Star IV" Model BU-353S4 GPS-Modul with built-in antenna.
So far, the provided tool sees sats and is able to get a 3d-lock.

The provided tool called "GpsInfo" uses the provided comport 6 with a baudrate of 4800 but setting these valuesseems not to correspond in a lock in centrafuse. As an example of what the tool is displaying to me "$GPSMC,20415,008,V,,,,,,,051115,,,N*4F"
lines like these are rushing trough this little tool.

i would appreciate if someone could lend me a helping hand with this

as an update, the tool gpsviewer sees now the sats too in centrafuse, maybe my problem is related to the changing comport#, it is now comport10

as an 2nd update, also navigator free15 runs with comport10 gps data when started directly from windows, but the moment i start it from within cf4.7 it can no longer see comport10?

Only 1 application at a time can access the COM port the GPS is 'plugged' into.

So if you have the GpsInfo connected to the port then CF won't be able to connect to it.

Similarly if you have Navigator connected directly to the GPS comport CF won't be able to connect to it.

If you want more that one application to connect to the GPS then you will need to install a COM port splitter.

Like GPSGate or xPort
