How do I backup my playlists?

Centrafuse > FAQ > Audio / Video Playback

Easy way

You can use the backup function in main settings to backup the entire configuration (including playlists) this is probably the easiest way to backup a playlist.

Not so easy way

In order to save or backup your playlists, you need to have access to the "C:\ProgramData" folder (Win 7) or the "C:\Documents and Settings" (Win XP) folder.

In order to get access to this folder, you need to open Computer (Win 7) or My Computer (Win XP).

  • Press Alt + T and choose "Folder Options".
  • Select the View tab and find "Show hidden files, folders and drives".
  • Click this option to turn it on and press Apply and then OK.

Now you need to find C:\ProgramData\Centrafuse\Centrafuse Auto\<user>\Playlists (Win 7) or C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Centrafuse\Centrafuse Auto\Playlists(Win XP) and copy the entire folder to a thumb drive for safe keeping.

You now have all your playlists backed up. Keep in mind that if you are using an external drive for your music, you will need to make sure that the correct music folder is being used in Centrafuse and that the drive letter stays the same within Windows.
